Lady Fingers Savoiardi Matilde Vicenzi
Sponge Lady Fingers originated in the late 15th century at the court of the Duchy of Savoy. They were recognized as an official court delicatessen and thus called Savoiardi.
Savoiardi Vicenzi sponge fingers, also known as Ladyfingers are the finest light and crispy sponge cakes typical of the Italian patisserie. Savoiardi Vicenzi are the main ingredient of many dessert recipes, such as Italian Trifle (zuppa inglese), Chatlotte and Tiramisu`.
Sponge fingers are also appreciated by infants and children being soft enough for teething mouths but easy to grasp and firm enough not to fall apart.
